NVIDIA's new Arm-based SoC chips are reportedly coming this year, and as we know, these will be a game-changer for the notebook market due to the combination of power-efficient Arm processors and Blackwell-based graphics on the SoC. With the N1 and N1X SoC chips, it will be possible to play modern games smoothly on these laptops, making them the first-ever true Windows on Arm gaming laptops.
ARM chips alone aren't adequate for modern gaming due to the lack of a powerful graphics processing unit, but the N1 chips will make that true. Looks like one of the laptop makers has already prepared several new laptop editions with these chips. As spotted by @Huang514613, Lenovo listed some of its NVIDIA N1 and N1X-based gaming laptops early, revealing and confirming the existence of such laptops.
The new laptop models have a naming convention that clearly does not belong to either AMD, Intel, or Qualcomm categories. The naming convention reveals that these will be equipped with the NVIDIA chips as the initial letter after the screen size has been replaced by the alphabet "N". Apparently, Lenovo has prepared six different laptop models under the Ideapad, Yoga, and Legion families, targeting different performance and price segments.
The Ideapad Slim and Yoga Pro laptops are reportedly bringing the NVIDIA N1 chip, which is waker than the N1X, aiming to offer higher efficiency and battery life. We hardly know much about its specs, unlike the N1X variant, which is a beast when it comes to the processor and the iGPU. There are two Lenovo laptop models, which are reportedly getting the N1X superchip, featuring 10 Cortex-X925 and 10 Cortex-A725 Arm cores coupled with the Blackwell-based GPU that ships with 6144 CUDA Cores.
This puts the iGPU equivalent to the desktop GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card, but previous leaks point to lower performance, which is due to power constraints. Still, it's expected that the N1X is going to bring the fastest integrated graphics we have till now. This will essentially make the Lenovo new gaming laptops, as well as other N1/N1X-based laptops, the true Windows on Arm gaming laptops for modern gaming.
