Nanya posts DRAM revenue growth in Q2

Tuesday, July 7, 2020

DRAM maker Nanya Technology saw its revenue slide to a four-month low of NT$5.32 billion (US$180.4 million) in June, but revenue for the second quarter climbed 14.4% sequentially to NT$16.49 billion.

Nanya's cumulative 2020 revenue through June totaled NT$30.91 billion, rising 29.8% on year.

Nanya is scheduled to hold its quarterly investors meeting on July 10 to discuss its second-quarter performance, as well as business outlook for the rest of 2020.

Nanya said previously that DRAM contract prices will continue rising in the third quarter as demand arising from stay-at-home economy remains robust. Demand for PCs and servers from users with remote work and distance learning needs is expected to help sustain the DRAM contract price growth in the third quarter. However, the company continued, end-market may turn weak and slow down later in the second half of this year if the coronavirus pandemic continues to batter the Europe and US economies.
